Bayou District NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
KID SMART
CSSP has partnered with Kid Smart, which links the arts such as song, dance, music, etc., to learning. Art integration lends depth to the learning process by using the arts to create new connections between content and the different ways children learn. Our target age group will be introduced to the culture of Hip-Hop. Beats, Rhymes and Life is a Hip-Hop workshop lead by New Orleans teaching/recording artist and emcee, Voice Monet. Participants will be walked through the art of rhyme into storytelling backed by beats. (Nov. 5, 7, 12, 14, 21, & 28 from 5 pm. to 6:30 pm).
EDUCARE
We are excited to announce the ground breaking of Educare New Orleans. Educare is a national network of early learning facilities that is committed to raising the standards of quality for "birth to age five” programs. The on-site location is tentatively scheduled to open at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year!

Bayou District Neighborhood News
Physical play is an important part of each child's day. To make play easy and accessible for Columbia Parc residents, there are now three playgrounds located on-site. One is located behind the swimming pool. The Heath Evans Foundation playground is on Caton Street (Hamburg Street side), and a new playground constructed as part of Phase IIB is located at the corner of Gibson and Senate Streets.

We're also happy to announce that the playfield at the corner of Foy and Duplessis Streets is now complete and available for Columbia Parc residents to use. Please observe posted rules so that play is fun and safe for all.
