Bayou District Neighborhood News
Bayou District Foundation
Bayou District Foundation had an outstanding year in 2012 and is gearing up for some big announcements in 2013. Working with our partners at LIFF and the New Orleans Saints, BDF and Columbia Residential helped construct a new playfield at the corner of Foy & Duplessis Streets. Bayou District Foundation began construction on Educare of New Orleans and we expect an opening in the summer of 2013. Planning for our edible schoolyard and community garden, community YMCA, retail and health care developments intensified with the hopes that we will start construction on these pieces this coming year. Lastly, City Park Improvement Association voted to approve an agreement between Bayou District Foundation and City Park to share resources from the new golf course at City Park — monies that will help fund community support services, education and other programming at Columbia Parc for years to come.
