President Barack Obama visits Columbia Parc
Columbia Parc was visited by President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan, and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu on Sunday, August 29th. During a full day of appearances, speeches, and interviews to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, he made time for a tour of Columbia Parc and was also interviewed for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams from block 8 of our community. President Obama and the First Lady visited the home of one of our residents, Maude Smith who formerly was a resident of St. Bernard, and her grandson David Robichaux, Jr. and also took photos with other residents and staff. We are thankful to all of our supporters and friends who helped make this page in Columbia Parc’s history possible. Helping rebuild an important New Orleans neighborhood following Hurricane Katrina has been a privilege and honor for Columbia Residential.
